My Mission

Hypnobirthing: To create an inclusive space for all, empowering parents to take control of their birth experience, understand the process of birth, learn skills to help achieve a positive birth and ultimately reduce birth trauma.

Baby Massage: I aim to build a supportive community where parents learn baby massage to calm and connect with their baby, but also develop friendships, and navigate parenthood with confidence and mutual support.

Still Not Sure About Hypnobirthing?

I understand Hypnobirthing might sound a bit out there. But let me be honest with you, going into labour unprepared doesn’t make you brave — it makes you vulnerable

Being Unprepared Can Lead To

Birth Trauma!

From my 18 years as a midwife, I've seen first hand the impact of going into labour without preparation. While every birth is unique, a lack of tools and knowledge can sometimes lead to:

  • Increased Fear and Anxiety: the unknown can feel overwhelming

  • Lead to increased Interventions: When fear and tension take over, it can disrupt the natural flow of labour, potentially leading to interventions that might have been avoided with preparation.

  • Increased Perception of Pain: The 'fear-tension-pain cycle' is a real thing. Lack of relaxation techniques can increase pain.

  • Feelings of Helplessness and Lack of Control: Without knowledge of your options you might feel like a passive recipient rather than an empowered birthing person.

  • Higher Risk Birth Trauma.

But what if you had the knowledge and tools to influence your birth, to make informed choices, to feel in control and help your labour progress smoothly as your baby enters the world?

You deserve a birth that feels safe and empowering.

This is possible!

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I start hypnobirthing?

Hypnobirthing is suitable from 24-37 weeks on-wards, research suggests the more you practice and use your hypnobirthing techniques antenatally the more effective it will be at delivery.

Does my partner have to come to hypnobirthing?

No, there are many partners who do not attend for various reasons but it is beneficial if they can attend, keep in mind this is course is for your birth partner, this may also be a friend, mum or sister not necessarily your partner. There is no extra cost for partners to attend

I’m having an induction. Is hypnobirthing still of use?

Absolutely, it would be a big advantage to understand all your options and choices in relation to induction and pain relief options. The relaxation element of hypnobirthing is perfect for Induction of Labour.

I am having a caesarean section, should I attend one of your classes?

Yes you might go into labour before your date, the class will prepare you on signs of labour and how to manage in the early stage, the hypnobirthing techniques would help keep you calm and can also be implemented in theatre. I also cover how to achieve a calm cesarean at the course along with the importance of skin to skin and the golden hour following birth which your birth partner would in recovery.

What age can I start a baby massage?

Baby massage is suitable from birth but you may need to consider how comfortable you are feeling before booking a class. Are you able to sit comfortably on a yoga mat? Are you able to lift a car seat? Have you had a section, can you drive yet? I tend to leave the choice to you as you will know best.

What age is too old for baby massage?

There is no upper limit, we all love a massage but Ideally you will want to start early, when a baby is crawling or pulling to stand they may not want to have a massage during the class as they are more interested in what is going on around them. However, I have had children up to 1 year in the class, some are very chilled and love to lie down for a pampering session.
