I’m a mum of 3, Midwife of 18+ years and a qualified Health Visitor. I love all things birth and baby related, I created Pregnancy Birth Beyond because I saw first-hand how fear and misinformation can have a negative impact on birth and parenthood and I believe we can do better!
My antenatal courses are honest and realistic, covering everything from normal births, induction of labour to cesarean section. This isn’t about just “breathing your baby out” or promising a pain-free birth. My courses help you replace fear with confidence, knowledge and calm.
I trained as a KG Hypnobirthing teacher – referred to as the ‘Gold Standard’ of hypnobirthing and accredited by the Royal College of Midwives. My official KGH teacher listing can be viewed here.
Using my knowledge, experience and evidence based research, I will help to prepare you and your birth partner, so you feel excited and confident for birth instead of nervous and fearful, helping reduce postnatal trauma and optimise positive birth experiences (even if it doesn't go to plan).
Following birth, join my baby massage classes, learn how to calm and soothe your baby while also gain support, reduce isolation, meet other new parents and start building your village.

Hannah

I was really nervous about pain and how I would cope, the class was really interesting and informative, the breathing techniques and birthing comb were amazing..

Sophie

My biggest fear was cesarean section and thats exactly what happened but Lisa's course made me stay calm and my partner knew how to support me through it all, we both really benefitted.

Abi

The epidural didn't work but hypnobirthing helped me understand what was happening, feel in control of my decisions and stay calm even when things changed.
Feel anxious or fearful about birth
Want your partner to feel confident supporting you
Want to avoid unnecessary interventions where possible
Want to feel calm, informed and prepared for all types of birth
Want to understand your choices during labour
Pregnancy and birth deserve the same thoughtful preparation we give to other major life events — yet too often they’re surrounded by fear and uncertainty.
Hypnobirthing is suitable from 24-37 weeks on-wards, research suggests the more you practice and use your hypnobirthing techniques antenatally the more effective it will be at delivery, spaces are limited, its recommended you book early.
No, but it is beneficial if they can attend. There is no extra cost for birth partners to attend. You can always book the female only course if you would feel more comfortable there.
Absolutely, nearly 50% of births are now induced. It would be a big advantage to understand the process of induction, learn all your options in relation to induction, advantages, disadvantages, pain relief options and so much more. Hypnobirth techniques can really help keep you calm and confident through the various stages of induction and promote a positive birthing experience.
Yes you might go into labour before your date, the class will prepare you on signs of labour and how to manage in the early stage, the hypnobirthing techniques would help keep you calm and can also be implemented in theatre. I also cover how to achieve a calm cesarean at the course along with the importance of skin to skin and the golden hour following birth which your birth partner would in recovery.
Absolutley not! I have many people come who had a traumatic first birth and want to feel more prepared for their next birth, this can be a healing experience and often couples are amazed at discovering how interventions impacted their previous birth. I often hear them say "I didn't know I could decline that", or "no one offered me that as an option". Being informed is powerful so you can make safe decisions that are right for you.
Yes, hypnobirthing with help you feel less fear surrounding birth, it will help you control hormones which impact labour and influence pain. You may also need to labour for a while before you are able to get an epidural so its good to be informed and know what other options are available and how to manage pain before an epidural can be sited.
Please message me if that is the case, I also offer 1-1's at a date and time that suit you and will create a waiting list too when a class is fully booked.
Baby massage is suitable from birth but you may need to consider how comfortable you are feeling before booking a class. Are you able to sit comfortably on a yoga mat? Are you able to lift a car seat? Have you had a section, can you drive yet? I tend to leave the choice to you as you will know best.
There is no upper limit, we all love a massage but ideally you will want to start early, when a baby is crawling or pulling to stand they may not want to have a massage during the class as they are more interested in what is going on around them. However, I have had children up to 1 year in the class, some are very chilled and love to lie down for a pampering session.

My face to face, midwife-led hypnobirthing course helps you replace fear with knowledge, and worry with confidence.
