Lisa Hanna - midwife, hypnobirth teacher based in Northern Ireland

HELLO!

My Approach and Business Story

I’m Lisa — an experienced Midwife and Health Visitor with over 20 years of experience supporting families through their most life changing event during pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.

My role in maternity services and child health across Northern Ireland, has led me through both Consultant and Midwifery Led Units, antenatal clinics, postnatal wards, delivery suites, including home births and working in community too. I have seen it all!

Unfortunately, over time I’ve witnessed first-hand how fear of birth, lack of preparation, and conflicting information can affect a family’s birth and parenthood experience.

That’s why I created Pregnancy Birth Beyond — to provide honest, realistic and supportive birth preparation that helps parents feel calm, confident, informed, and emotionally ready for whatever path their birth takes.

A positive birth has long lasting outcomes, it empowers mothers, reduces postnatal depression and anxiety, creates strong bonds with parents and their baby, improves postnatal recovery, strengthens relationships and creates a healthy, happier, household. (World Health Organisation, 2025)

Following birth you can join me at baby massage, learn how to calm and soothe your baby, meet other new parents and join a supportive community navigating parenthood together, based in Castlewellan.

Whether you’re preparing for birth or navigating life with a newborn, I’m here to help guide and support you, and build a community of like minded, supportive parents. My approach blends professional expertise with warmth, reassurance and realistic preparation for birth and early parenthood based in Newcastle and Castlewellan, Co.Down, NI.
